Microsoft Ending Support For Windows XP & Office 2003
The time is NOW to start planning your PC upgrades, which will also require testing all of the business related software that you run to ensure it works with Windows 7 and/or Windows 8.
Windows XP and Office 2003 will stop being supported by Microsoft on April 8, 2014. This means, among other things, they'll stop releasing security patches, bug fixes and all other updates for both products. It also means that support for the product is officially turned off, which has already started to push hardware and software manufacturers to not release their newest products with versions that will work on Windows XP.

A new malware infection that has recently been making the rounds is called CryptoLocker. In short, if you become infected, Cryptolocker encrypts the files on your PC and any network drives you're connected to, which renders them impossible to open unless you "purchase" a decryption key from the hijackers... typically for a fee of $300.
There’s a full write-up at the link provided below, but it is important to point out that, with this type of threat, the only REAL solution is to have a good backup of your data... and a simple cloud backup to a service like Carbonite, MozyPro, BackBlaze or similar WILL NOT HELP YOU in this type of scenario. Those services back up your files the instant they change... so in this case, when your files become encrypted by the virus, you will automatically be backing up the bad file.
