New For 2014!! Member - To - Member Savings
New For 2014:
Member- To- Member
We're excited to announce the launch of a new program this year that's exclusive for
our members! The program will advertise your business to fellow members to get them
in your door AND will save you
$$ when patronizing fellow members a definite win-win!
The details are simple...
Send us an email outlining what you would like to offer (examples: a specific
percentage discount such as 10% off all services, a discounted flat fee for a specific
service, buy one get one free/half off, etc.). The offer has to have a real special value
for the members in other words, if you offer everyone a free evaluation of some kind, it
isn't exclusive for our members. We understand that some of our members will be
unable to offer a discount because of the nature of their business.
But all of our members will be able to take advantage of the discounts offered.
Your questions answered...
Can I change what I offer?
Yes you can, but for the sanity of our web developer, we'd prefer that the offer
be for a full year. For greater flexibility you can offer something like..."10% off
all services, ask about even greater seasonal discounts."
Sounds good, but how can I verify that someone is a member?
They'll have a membership card (see sample below). Membership cards
have been mailed to all members who are current in their dues.
All our members are listed alphabetically on our website.
I'd like to shop with fellow members, but how will I know what the offers are?
All offers will be listed on our website under the heading Member To Member Savings.
Have a different question?
Call us at 732-477-4949 and we'll answer it!

Business of the Month Joe’s Service Center
Business of the Month
Joe’s Service Center
584 Mantoloking Road in Brick
We love the story of a small business that grew because of the hard work of the owners who are invested in their community. The following spotlight is on a family owned and operated business that is exactly that.
Joe’s Service Center has been taking care of the automotive needs of Ocean County residents since 1958. Joe Bevacqua originally opened as Breton Woods Gulf, later became a Mobil dealer and then in 1986 changed to their current name. For many years he worked seven days a week to build a business that is now owned and operated by partners Jeff, Lisa and Billy.
Joe’s son, Jeff grew up in the business and began running it 23 years ago. As a teenager, he pumped gas, cleaned the station and the mechanic’s tools, took out the garbage and basically learned the business from the bottom up. His partner (and brother-in-law) Billy began working there when he was 16 and has been there ever since. Lisa (Bevacqua) Wheeler does “behind the scenes” work to keep the office running smoothly.
The full service station, in addition to selling gasoline, kerosene, diesel fuel and propane, prides itself on mechanics who repair all makes and models of cars and light trucks. They do everything from oil changes to major engine work and also offer towing and tire sales.
Jeff says that they have “built their business on honesty and always being as fair as we can be.” And since they’ve been helping neighbors for 56 years that seems like a very sound philosophy!
Brick Event Collects 400 Pounds of Food As Thanksgiving Collection Effort Continues
An ongoing effort to collect food for the needy of the local area got a boost to the tune of 400 pounds thanks to a Brick Township event.
Community Hope of Ocean County, an organization started by Wingman Planning and Tri County Agency of Brick, two Brick businesses, has been leading the effort to support the FoodBank of Monmouth & Ocean Counties’ Thanksgiving drive throughout the fall. At a Nov. 1 event at the Brick PAL, the New Jersey Miss Amazing Pageant donated nearly 400 pounds of food through the organization.
“We can’t thank the New Jersey Miss Amazing Pageant enough for their outstanding support of our efforts to stock the shelves of The FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties,” said Jacki Frank, Community Hope’s co-organizer.
Miss Amazing Inc. is a nonprofit organization that gives women of all ages the chance to shine, the Community Hope organization said. Miss Amazing pageants operate in 20 states, including New Jersey. The pageant has an interview portion, evening wear and an optional talent section, and it gives women with disabilities an opportunity to boost their self-confidence.
The New Jersey Miss Amazing Pageant was held at the Brick PAL Nov. 1, and pageant organizers asked participants to bring in canned food to support Community Hope of Ocean County and the FoodBank. The Brick event had seven “Amazing Women” entrants and they, along with their families and friends, donated 398 pounds of food.
There is still time before Thanksgiving for everyone in the community to add to the progress already made, according to organizers, as Community of Hope Ocean County has been working with 13 local businesses to get the word out to the local community about the items most in need for the food drive and to make food donation convenient in the Brick and Toms River areas.
Collection of non-perishable food for the FoodBank continues at the 13 local businesses acting as drop-off points for donations:

Message to Membership
I am so honored and excited to serve as your president for 2015. I was so pleased that my husband, children and parents were able to join me at our Distinguished Citizens event, which was a warm and welcoming holiday gathering. It also gave me platform to thank my parents for instilling in me the value and importance of “giving back”.
I joined the Chamber 7 years ago and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. I was immediately connected to the Brick business community. Those connections have become friendships with many outstanding role models, that continue to inspire me today.
Membership has provided me with many opportunities to meet and work alongside with some amazing people and business leaders, all while “giving back”. Whether by volunteering on a committee, participating on a project or even attending our events, there are so many ways to get involved and make a difference.
So, as I pledge to continue our mission to “give back” I encourage all of you to think about how you can contribute this year by either:
- Joining a committee
- Volunteering on a project
- Attending our events
- Inviting another business owner to join the chamber and help strengthen and support the community we love to do business in.
Wishing you and your family a healthy, happy and prosperous New Year!

$25,000 in Scholarships Being Awarded to Celebrate 25th Anniversary!
The Educational Foundation of the Brick Township Chamber of Commerce is celebrating the 25th anniversary of giving this year and in recognition of that milestone is awarding $25,000 in scholarships! We will be holding a special networking cocktail party to congratulate and introduce our eighteen (18) 2015 scholarship award recipients on Wednesday May 27th at the Crystal Point Yacht Club 3900 River Road, Point Pleasant from 5:30 -7:30 p.m.
Helping to make this special event possible are Honor Society Sponsors who are: Assured Mortgage Bankers, Brick Police Athletic League, Drs. Ricki Krantz and Todd Sirota, FASTSIGNS of Brick, OceanFirst Bank, Rich and Lisa Lau, Tri-County Insurance Agency, and Wingman Planning.
The Brick Twp. Chamber of Commerce has awarded scholarships continuously for post-secondary education for twenty-five (25) years and in that time has made awards of close to $200,000. This year’s awards mark the greatest dollar amount given in a single year.
Lincoln O’Hare, owner of FASTSIGNS and president of the Foundation, which is an unpaid volunteer position, says that a number of the awards being given were made possible because of the generosity of Chamber of Commerce members. O’Hare says that, “Several of our members have been very generous by donating money for career specific awards.” There are nine (9) donated and career specific awards which are:
- The Anthony Emma Memorial Scholarship donated by Encore Dental Associates for a student concentrating their studies in the areas of science and or math.
- A Princeton Dental Associates Scholarship which is being given to a student going to school for health related studies.
- Barlo and Associates Architects/Abatare Builders created an award for someone studying architecture, interior design, engineering or construction
- FASTSIGNS of Brick will assist a student pursuing a career in graphic arts.
- Richard and Lisa Lau donated two awards for health related, science or math studies.
- The Brick Township Chamber of Commerce Golf Invitational for general studies and “Waves of Support,” for students whose educations were impacted by Superstorm Sandy.
